Act https://artkelly.org/act Mon, 26 Aug 2024 23:12:28 +0000 https://artkelly.org/act Be

The kind of person that grows their business well is the person who takes action.

A lot of us talk a lot.

We want to be heard.

We want to be seen.

We want people to call us.

We want to have more.

We want to obtain more.

We want to be known more.

But we often forget that in order for these things to happen, we have to do something.

If we want to be heard, then we have to listen.

If we want to be seen, then we have to see.

If we want people to call us, we’ve got to call them.

If we want to have more, then we have to give more.

If we want to obtain more, then we have to attain more.

If we want to be known more, then we need to seek to understand more.

Do

All of this is why I created “The 21 Day FriendMaker™ Challenge”

CALL https://artkelly.org/call Tue, 20 Aug 2024 14:06:42 +0000 https://artkelly.org/?p=1633 The first Critical task you will have every day within the 21 Day challenge is:
“Make 10 Phone Calls and have 3 Great Conversations.”

The natural first question you will ask is:
“Who Do I Call?”

Here is who I call everyday.

  1. Friends in my iPhone Contact list.
  2. Past Clients I’ve served.
  3. Strategic Business Partners

If you don’t know anyone in town because you are new… then your job during the first 21 day challenge is to get a list of local contacts, people you can call.

Here’s how you do this:
Instead of making 10 phone calls every day, you need to make 10 new friends everyday. At the end of 21 days you will now have a list of 210 people you can contact.

You will find people who have business minds at BNI groups, weekly networking groups, community outreach groups, churches and other non profit organizations, neighborhood picnics, city council meetings, you name it.

You are going to have to out and seek new relationships.

If you have lived in your town for any period of time you probably already have relationships with people who have served you in business or whom you have served.

The point of this 21 Day Challenge is to build your business foundational through deep and wide relationships.

You need to go DEEP with the people you already know.

You need to go WIDE by expanding your community if people that you know.

This is critical Task Number 1.
It is the most important thing you will do everyday in business.

BE

“The Foundation of your business is Friendship.”
This is still as true today as the first time I said it.

“Who you are” matters.
“What you do” also matters.

You cannot only focus on “BEING” something.
You have to also “DO” something.

This is why I split these entries up into two parts:
The “BE” part and then the “DO” part.

We show who we are by the actions we take.
Our inner person can be seen better when we live out who we are.

Cultivating a strong inner “Core” is so important.
But eventually, that inner being has to come out in our outer doing.

Your Business needs you to act.
Your Life needs you to move.
Your Beneficiaries need you to DO…something. Anything!! Just do something!

Something is better than nothing.
More action is better than less action.
Action is better than inaction.
Even if it is incremental.

Massive action, though can change your life.
In the end, these are simply words.

Words are powerless unless they are backed up by deeds.

DO

Enter “The 21 Day Challenge”.
As a business person, trying to build a solid foundation of Relationships to build your business on.

You need action.

Relationships don’t just appear.
Connections must first be made.
Partnerships must be formed.
Links must be established.
Associations must be joined.
Networks must be forged.

Friendships must be Built.

This all takes time.
It takes discipline.
It takes intentionality.
It must be systematic.
It needs to be consistent.

You need a PLAN.

The 21 Day Challenge is that PLAN.

This week, I want to invite you into something that I will be beginning on  Tuesday Sept 3rd.
It is called “The 21 Day FriendMaker™ Challenge.  The purpose of this challenge is to help you create a foundation that will sustain your business in the years to come through the building of a solid foundation of relationships.

Success https://artkelly.org/success Mon, 29 Jul 2024 12:52:01 +0000 https://artkelly.org/success Be

What is your worthy goal or ideal?
The difference between us and most animals in creation is that we have the ability to set a goal, plan the steps we are going to take to get there, and execute on that plan until we see it through to completion.

What’s your worthy goal or ideal?

Where do you want to be in 6 months? In 1 year? In 5 years?

Physical Strength isn’t just going to appear some day.
You’re going to have to work for it.

A happy marriage isn’t going to simply materialize.
You’re going to have to work for it.

Great relationships with your family don’t just happen.
You’re going to have to work for it.

Personal Growth doesn’t happen spontaneously.
You’re going to have to work for it.

Mental Toughness isn’t a luxury only reserved for the elite.
You’re going to have to work for it.

Financial Freedom doesn’t just fall in your lap someday.
You’re going to have to work for it.

Cancer doesn’t just go away on it it’s own.
You’re going to have to work for it.

Disability isnt overcome by sitting there.
You’re going to have to work for it.

Death is inevitable, but Life is hard.
You’re going to have to work for it.

Do

Some things you can’t control.

I get that.

But so much is within your grasp if you’ll just reach out and take hold of it!! Here are 4 quick tips to keep you on the right track!

1. Set your goal. Write it down,
2. Make your plan. Set little action steps out everyday to help you realize your goal.
3. Be flexible. Hold your plan loosely. Circumstances change. But keep your eye on the prize.
4. Give yourself grace. When you stumble, don’t start all over. Pick yourself up and keep going. You’re never back where you began unless you’re climbing a ladder. Get off the ladder and run the race.

Progressively Realize your goal.

Success is on the other side.

Change https://artkelly.org/change Fri, 10 May 2024 13:54:55 +0000 https://artkelly.org/change Be

I made a change recently.

As a Realtor, I am very cognizant of public perception. We all have to be. It’s so important to make decisions that benefit both us and those who follow us.

But I have to be honest. I made a change because I had hit a ceiling.

Let me explain.

A month ago, I was burnt out.

I had been spending most of my time chasing two rabbits. The first was the rabbit of my real estate business.

The second was that of my speaking/coaching business.

I reached burnout stage when I realized that I was working but the activities I knew I needed to be doing weren’t getting me where I wanted to be.

I needed a change.

So, I met a new friend who changed my perspective on how my business could be done, and then backed up his encouragement to me by surrounding me with a community of people who are invested in my success.

While the benefits and the systems of my previous company were comparable to the benefits and systems of my new company… it really didn’t matter the name of the company… it was the people and the community that mattered to me more.

And so… I made a big change.

Some didn’t understand and I know that some will not ever understand. But that isn’t what I want to focus on today.

Here’s my point. when you are making a decision that may be life changing or perception-changing for those around you, remember these three things:

Do

1. Don’t only follow the money. Yes, the money has to make sense, and sometimes you have to weigh the costs of what you’re getting for what you’re giving. But don’t just make it about the money or you’ll be easily moved to the next bright shiny object.

2. Look at the reality of what your system is doing for you. If your system is working, and you have the support you need and are getting the outcomes you were promised by your current situation… then by all means, stay. If not though, maybe it’s time to look at a different way of doing things.

3. Follow community, not commodity. Your next chapter will be either better or worse depending on the people you are surrounding yourself with. If you have the support you need then don’t even consider moving. But if you need the support of a stronger community, a more successful community, a better community…then always make the choice that moves you towards people.

You can’t go wrong if the direction you’re moving in puts you in closer proximity to the people you wouldn’t have met had you not changed your direction in the first place.

For those of you wondering what the change I made was, please feel free to reach out to me. I’m happy to talk about what company I’m working with now and why I made the switch. I’m here to help.

Burnout https://artkelly.org/burnout Fri, 26 Apr 2024 11:36:28 +0000 https://artkelly.org/burnout Be

Are you burned out?

Recently I’ve been feeling that sense of exhaustion… trying everything I knew to drum up business, to drum up energy, to create momentum again.

I’ve been spinning my wheels trying to create something out of what felt like no energy, no support, no forward sense of vision.

There’s a saying that goes “Your system is perfectly designed to give you the results you are currently getting.” So… I made a change.

I’m not one to typically hop, skip, or jump into things that are new. I prefer continuity, consistency, loyalty, etc. But this past week I had to make a serious change.

What happened in the process of changing my system was that other people were affected. I had a lot of difficult conversations this week. Sometimes I didn’t handle the communication well. I had to apologize for a couple of ways I went about sone things,, but not for making the change.

My system needed the change and the support I needed I finally got. Change is difficult. But sometimes, maybe even most times, change is necessary.

If you want to keep getting what you’re getting, then keep doing what you’re doing. If you want something different, do something different.

Do

How do I keep myself from burning out?

1. Make a change to your system. Change your routine, get fresh ideas, meet with someone who has ideas you don’t have yet. Fresh wind, fresh fire. If your system is a job or a group affiliation, understand that this may be harder. When people are affected by your change, sometimes change needs to happen slower. But move toward change, or get stagnant and you’ll burnout.

2. Chuck fear out the door. You can’t change the past so don’t fear your past. You can’t see the future, so don’t fear what hasn’t happened yet. Live in the present. Not in the I Was or the I Will Be… live in the Great I Am. The “Now” is always better than the “was” and the hope of the “will be.” Is always affected by how I embrace the “now”. All you have is this moment… so live it well and understand that this too shall pass.

3. Finally be sensitive and considerate to those who are being affected by the change you’re making. You can’t please everyone. So don’t try. But get wise counsel, seek advice from wiser better people, all so that you can become better.

“Don’t wish things were easier, wish you were better.” J Rohn.

Get better so you don’t burnout.

Feelings https://artkelly.org/feelings Thu, 18 Apr 2024 10:43:57 +0000 https://artkelly.org/feelings Be

“Feelings make great passengers but terrible drivers.”

You cannot live your life based on the ebb and flow of emotion. The truth is that your emotions can deceive you more often than not.

Feelings are often a barometer of where your heart and mind are. They can indicate that something is not calibrated in your thinking.

But let it be your disciplined thinking and discernment that defines and guides the path you’re taking today.

If your thinking is clouded by your emotions, which is often the truth, you need to change the way you think.

“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind” the Bible teaches. How?

Do

Here are three strategies that will help you renew your mind so it is not swayed to and grow by the fickleness of your feelings:

1. Change your daily focus. When you wake up in the morning, control the first thought you think. How do I do that? Well, maybe make the last thing you do before you go to bed be reading a personal growth book or devotional. There is research that shows, what we think about before we go to bed often affects what we think about when we rise.

2. Learn to discipline your thoughts. Everyone makes the excuse, “I just can’t change”. Baloney. You won’t change. There is no can’t. Decide. Catch yourself. Consider others. Decrease your need for recognition and focus on others. Stop yourself when you start feeling self-pity by speaking to yourself instead of listening to yourself. Read affirmations such as the ones written in Og Mandinos Greatest Salesman in the World or Andy Andrews The travelers Gift.

3. Set up signposts in your immediate world. There are thousands of inspirational quotes. scriptures, and images that you can print up and put everywhere in your life. The bathroom mirror, the refrigerator door, your computer, your dashboard, your doorposts. Put signs everywhere that point your mind to the right thinking that will set the trajectory of your day in a positive way.

Can’t? Or Won’t discipline your feelings? Your choice.

LOVE https://artkelly.org/love-2 Tue, 16 Apr 2024 11:35:56 +0000 https://artkelly.org/love-2 BE

The 7th Sphere of a FriendMaker is Loving.

You cannot love what you have not valued. If your client doesn’t sense they are valued by you, all attempts at loving them will fail.

Love has at its core a selfless seeking out for the other persons welfare, benefit, and blessing. It is an unselfish way to treat people. And it often requires personal sacrifice to practice it.

The great thing about the Sphere of Loving is it really encompasses all the other spheres. You begin with love and you end with love. Caring for your clients should happen before you even get clients. Loving is something that is done long before you meet and long after you close the deal with them.

That’s why this is the greatest Sphere of FriendMaking. Because it truly transcends the others.

DO

How do we begin to communicate love and care to our clients?

1. Don’t worry about you. Quit being anxious about what you are going to get in the end, the transaction, the payout, or the closing. Focus on the well being of other people first. Become the kind of person who loves people well. Begin with an internal choice to set yourself aside.

2. Show it. Express it to people. Call them. Write them notes. Visit them. Throw parties for them. Encourage them along the way.

3. Keep doing it after you close the deal. Build community. Don’t use people as commodities. Connect them with your friends. Call them long after the sale. Stay in their lives as a voice of value. Be their friend.
