Life is about more than just paying bills.
Sometimes it seems like all we are trying to do is get more money to support the lifestyle we’ve arranged for ourselves.
But life isn’t about that.
Bills come due because we owe them.
I’m not just talking about your mortgage. Rent and utilities.
I mean any time life throws you a curveball, the bill is coming due.
Maybe it’s your health. Years of putting the wrong things in your body result in the bill of your health coming due.
Maybe it’s your marriage. Years of not depositing good things in your spouse result in the bill of a failed relationship.
Maybe it’s your personality. Years of refusing to read good books, listen to positive messages, or create good things in your life result in the bill of a negative mind and heart, and an angry reaction to everything.
Maybe it’s your business. Years of expecting people to just show up to your business without prospecting, building relationships, or bringing value to your community result in declining profits and a diminished influence on your industry.
Bills come due.

1. Breathe life. Start Breathing Life into the people in your life. Understand this: humans cannot survive without oxygen. So instead of being the kind of person who sucks life out of the room every time you are around. Start putting oxygen into people. Be kind. Say encouraging things. Insert positivity into all of your conversations.
2. Surrender control. So what if life has you beat down, discouraged, or depressed? What are you going to do about it? Accept the things you cannot change and focus on the thing you can change. Namely…you. Dedicate yourself to personal growth and intentional spiritual formation.
3. Start making deposits. Begin with your health. Then move on to your family, your sphere of influence, your business partners, and your clients. Bring value to everybody everyday. Commit yourself to being an encouraging voice and creating something beautiful in the world everyday. Just begin. It doesn’t have to look perfect. It just has to be authentic.
