Be
You’ve worked hard.
You’ve been in the trenches everyday.
You’ve been in the pit, grinding it out.
Every bit of sweat, blood, and tears you’ve shed has brought you to this point…
You aren’t where you want to be but you are definitely closer today than where you were yesterday.
You’re afraid to take a rest.
You’re afraid to let off the gas.
You’re afraid to stop working because you think it all depends on you.
But here’s the truth. The grind you’ve been grinding has set things in motion that you don’t fully understand yet.
There are results brewing in the coming weeks that you have no idea are coming.
Set your face to the future, keep your heart in the present, and let yourself go on that vacation to spend time with family, eat some turkey, watch some games, play some games, sleep in a few mornings, laugh out loud, and do a little shopping on Friday, or whatever day you want.
Give yourself permission.
You’ve earned it.
You deserve it.
More importantly,
Look at your family.
They’ve earned it.
They deserve it.
Do
1. Tie up your loose ends and set your vacation boundaries before you go. Figure out what times of day you are going to let your phone ring and what times you are going to turn it off.
2. Decide in your heart you aren’t going to let your heart be driven away from your family during the next few days. This is their time, not just yours.
3. Worry about Monday on Monday. Take some time each morning this week to be grateful. Talk to God about how grateful you are for your spouse, for your family, for your life, for your work. Thank Him. Be grateful.
4. Watch football. Eat food. Take naps. Have sex. Relax. Play. Quit worrying. Permission means freedom. So be free. And above all, show gratitude.
