How to talk to your clients about your commission.

Because the world is on fire about real estate agent commissions, right now, I have decided to create a class to teach Realtors how to talk to their clients about how they get paid.

It’s become very clear to me over the last few years that most realtors do not know how to broach this subject with their clients. In an age of the need for full disclosure, we all have to get better at communicating our value and negotiating our commissions with our clients.

The class that I am going to be teaching is going to touch on several ideas:

1. Your internal value.

2. Your external value.

3. Your value proposition

4. Your compensation value. To be clear, we will not be discussing specific percentages as that is not allowed. What we will do is talk about how to discuss with your client what you typically charge.

Ultimately, we all have to decide exactly what we want to charge for our services. Until these settlements are closed, nothing has really changed with all of the lawsuits, except that we have got to just be more professional in the way we communicate our profession.

Jim Rohn once said, “Don’t wish things were easier. Wish you were better. Don’t wish for less problems, wish for more skills. Don’t wish for less challenges, wish for more wisdom.”

This class is about making you better, giving you more skills, and infusing you with more wisdom and discernment, and how to handle the coming title wave of consumer questions regarding your commission.

If you’re interested in bringing me to your office, to a Realtor luncheon, or to your community or Regional conference, I would absolutely love the opportunity to drive or fly to your city and spend a couple hours with your agents to go over “How to talk to your clients about your commission”.
